Hi there! I am so glad we found each other.
My name is Alexis, although I frequently go by Ali. I live on the island of Oahu, Hawai’i, with my husband, Greg, our Corgi Max. I’m an avid lover of animals and nature, even the things categorized under “creepy crawly.”
You will find much of my content is inspired by the beautiful places, people, and experiences I’ve had in all the parts of this world I’ve been lucky enough to visit—from North America to Europe to South and Central America.
Over the years, my content has shifted. This year (2024), I’ve made a conscious decision to alter the type of work I share. Moving forward, My primary focus is ways we can connect with our wild world and show up with compassion. What this means is delivering more of what I love — animal sanctuaries, conservation efforts, projects, and travel experiences centered around learning from and positively contributing to our environment and the creatures within it.
When I’m not at my desk writing, you may find me plotting (or, more hopefully, executing) my next travel experience, walking in the woods, snuggling with pigs at our island sanctuary, cooking, crafting, watching Scream for the one-millionth time, or reading someones else’s brilliant work.
In addition to being a book nerd, I’m equally as nerdy about writing. I’m an author of both fiction and non-fiction. Aside from my routine blog publications, you can enjoy my other work in the portfolio tab entitled “Laptop Library.“
It’s not all about travel. Although I have been advised by countless how-to blog guides to stick with one topic and only share that, I just can’t. Like all of yours, my life and interests are far too multi-dimensional to stay in one realm. I consider myself a lifelong learner, and many of the discoveries I make while on my journey of “lifelong learning” I want to share with you.
Thank you for being here.
Please feel free to reach out and leave comments. This blog was not solely created as an outlet for my crazy writing brain but as a place to connect and be inspired by one another.
